Lake Orion is located approximately 45 minutes north of Detroit and is the seventh largest lake in Oakland County. This unique lake was formed in 1829 by damming the paint creek turning 5 small lakes into one. Creating about 600 acres of water, numerous of coves, nearly 21 islands, and 32 miles of shoreline. The average depth is 18 feet, with a maximum depth of 110 feet near Sweet’s Island home to Lake Orion Boat Club.
